CALLICOON THEATER

The Callicoon Theater was built in 1948 and is the oldest continually operated cinema in Sullivan County, New York. We are big on charm, big on nostalgia, and of course...big on movies! Did we mention we're big? With 350 seats, our historic art deco movie theater recalls a bygone era of the Western Catskills, while our upgraded digital projection equipment and dolby surround system provides you with a totally modern cinematic experience.

Remember when going to the movies was a really special event? At The Callicoon Theater it still is! Our programming is a fun mix of new releases, cinema classics, local film festivals, cult film throwbacks and live music events. We believe there's just nothing quite like seeing a movie on the silver screen, so we give you a celebratory, one-of-a-kind experience from start to finish.

The Callicoon Theater is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all our employees.

Moreover, The Callicoon Theater believes that representation matters. Everyone should see themselves represented on screen, regardless of race or gender, because film is a powerful tool. It connects, educates, amplifies the unheard, and actively works against tactics of dehumanization. A shared theater-going experience can illuminate potent truths and ultimately transform the way we see ourselves and other human beings.
